This is a pattern for all you Star Wars lovers who want to go out this winter in style. It’s mostly colorwork, with a slight brim on the edge, which I suggest blocking to lay flat after finishing.

The pattern is written for #3 needles for a female adult hat (26 stitches/4 in) or #6 needles for an adult male hat (23 stitches/4 in). The hat is quite long and sits fully over the ears.

I did the white hat in Silke by Artier Witico and the blue hat in Titan Wool by Zaffiro. The blue hat is an adult male size, and the white hat is an adult female.

Note: A few people have asked about amounts of yarn used for this pattern. I confess that I did not keep track of the yardage, but I can say that I had one 50g ball of each color, and that was enough to finish the project. There was enough of the two accent colors to make a pom-pom out of either color.

UPDATE I’ve published an update with the “missing stitch” in charts 2A & 2B. If you have an older version, just go ahead and K1 in MC as the last stitch or just start another 2B.

UPDATE The most recent version of the pattern now has a more fitted brim, based on some project suggestions (and personal testing).

UPDATE Thanks to redhead71 for charting the words in German. This file can be downloaded here and used in place of chart 2A in the pattern.

This is awesome… I can’t wait to knit one up for my son, he’s a BIG Star Wars fan! I will also be doing the Rogue One hat for him. I would LOVE to see a pattern for matching scarfs (fingers crossed) or maybe mittens. I love your work. Happy knitting!!

Thanks! I haven’t thought about doing matching scarves or mittens…interesting idea. I’m not sure I have the time right now, but I’ll add it to the list of ideas for the future. Thanks for the suggestion!
